Intuitive blog responses. Your sociology class sounds amazing! I agree that classes need to be more interactive, which is what I strive to do more in the future.

Comment to tiffany

I was able to read your blog but then it said i couldnt and i was unable to see if you can see my comment.  I read your blog and i agree that there should be a lighter workload.  Although i perfer not having to tale classes i am not interested in rather than a super light workload.  The workload seperates the weak minded from the strong minded.  The workload is a test of will.  I like the idea of no tuition but someone has to pay for the teacher's salaries and the workers on campus.  If public universities don't require the students to pay the tax payers then have to pay.  I feel that a university can exist where both tiffany and i's wants can be satisfied.  I chose your blog to respond to tiffany because i could connect with your ideas.

My university

Well my perfect university would be more of a revised university rather than a completely new system.  As a full time student paying my own way with a part time job, i find it difficult to juggle everything.  I would make universities lower the amount of credits required to graduate by cutting out the requirements for fine arts.  I myself am lucky enough to have gotten a really great Fine Arts teacher but from what i hear many students don't seem to mesh well with their fine arts teachers.  I would also change the rules on crediting gym based classes like; wieghtlifting, and martial arts.  I don't understand why dancing counts towards your degree but martial arts doesn't. If dancing can count towards your degree than why not a physical class.  The universities under my thumb would have more and more open class discussion classes.  To this day my favorite class has been intro to Sociology with Dr. Minnich.  Every class she let us the students debate about which criminals should be released and which shouldn't and other things of that nature.  Any class that gets the student involved rather than sitting down and ignoring the professor in a 3 hour lecture is great.  i would also never start class before 1030am because the mind isn't fully awake until 9 am.  Sports would be avaible to anyone who wants to play.  I would also make school cheaper in order for students not to feel rushed to get out school because it's so expensive.  Students could finish school at their own pace and get more out of college.  And finally i would have many dorms so that dorming could be cheaper and hopefully the price would go down in order for students with less money could enjoy the benefits of living on campus.

"Yo Jesus Spin dat s#!@*"

1.  Well this blog post will be a hard one for me because i am an atheist and i honestly could care less about anything that has to do with religion with the exception of past historical religious events that have impacted western civilization.  I can't give a response to the t-shirts themselves butwould like to comment on who i believe wears these shirts.  I believe that a "gansta" Hispanic would be the type that wears this shirt.  The shirts are meant for the people who are really really cool and need to make another statement.  I believe that these shirts are mocking Christ and the church because putting the face of Jesus on a shirt that says "Jesus is my homeboy" is almost hypocritical.  This falls under hip-hop culture and this culture represents sex, violence, and drug use.  All of which are not very christian.  I believe if i was religious that i would think these t-shirts are okay because i would just want to tell people about my faith.

2.  "And almost since its inception, Christians have seen it as a way to both show and propagate their faith."  This refutes Paul's arguement of shirts aren't the way to profese their religion but to mock the relilgion.

3.  If the shirts only had text i believe it would lose some backing that these religious shirts express and show faith.  Without the pictures i believe that the shirt becomes more sarcastic.

4.  i think the Black shirt is more religious and more meaningful due to the halo around the jesus.  the Halo is a very important symbol in eastern orthdox christianty, it was one of the major arguements between the eastern orthdox christians and roman catholics.  the face of the jesus also seems kind and the position of the hands are inviting and wam.  The other shirt is more casual religious, the jesus is more of a regular person compared to the other jesus which seems to be more of a religious figure.  The jesus on the white shirt is more of that cool guy that you hang out with sort of guy.  Its not a person you worship, it more of your good friend.  The font in the black shirt puts more umph on the Jesus and less on everything else making jesus a more respectable figure.  The style of the text of Jesus is more formal then the the remanding text as well.  The other shirt's text is very casual do to the red and cursive text.  But that just ads to the entire casual effect of the shirt itself which appeals more to the youth who wants only the fashion part of the religious t'shirt trend.

CD title-- "the Liberal"

1.  A Book Won't Change Me
Genre: Ghetto Rap

I do not believe that the bible and religion should not be the base of our beliefs of right and wrong and it should be so influential.  Presidents must be a god fearing man in order to win the office.  I don't believe that a book that is thousands of years old should be taken so seriously that it influences laws and movements in this country that is based on the greed of people.

2.  There are worse things
Genre: Classic rock

this song would be about legalizing marijuana.  There are worse things that cops should be spending there time on preventing.  A joint will never kill anybody, but that dump truck rolling down the road without an inspection and bad tires will.  Law enforcement can spend the resources from marijuana enforcement to make streets safer from crazy drivers, or more cops in public areas to prevent theft.  Besides the government could tax it and make money and the government could save money by not prosecuting kids for use of marijuana.

3.  It's her body
Genre: Reggae

Abortion should be the choice of the parents.  The government should not have a say in whether a woman can have an abortion.  And people who argue that a baby that was aborted could have had the cure for cancer, that might be true but its more likely that the baby will be an average Joe or a criminal before he is a scientist.

4.  I'm Hurting
Genre: Rap

This song will address a better health care system in the United States.  People are hurting financially and health care should not have to be another worry.  I want to talk about cases of people who get hurt but live off minimum wage and how a trip to the E.R. can really set them back.  It could have the amount of money companies make off of people getting hurt.

5. Destroy all Hybrids!!!
Genre: Hair Metal

This one is more for fun.  I just think hybrids are a joke because the way people drive their hybrids do not save gas.  I know a guy who has had a Prius for 3 years and he averages around 26mpg.  In my civic which i run hard i usually average 33mpg.  And i <3>

Step 2--

I'm Hurting

I been struggling to survive in this jungle made of brick and steel, working hard for that p#@:( for my meals.  Baby i got my head above water struggling to breath, just making ends meet.  Until i got hurt from work, and i'm drowning cause i gotta to pay another hospital bill.  I'm hurting cause the quacks got my money now, and i gotta pay if i ever want to get out of this mess.

Wow... can anybody tell the truth on anything... or we in a nation of idiots... One or the other liars or idiots.

1.
I have watched many things on steroids because I have always been thin no matter how many hours i lifted weights. When i played football in high school i was the exact same height and weight i am now, and i always too thin for my position and i almost starting using steroids. If it wasn't for me being having a needle phobia i would have started juicing. I could have been bigger, stronger, and faster. This video really didn't make me feel like kicking myself for not using steroids back in high school i am past the whole being huge phase. I feel like the video goes to show that really no one knows the effects of steroids. I believe that if Greg Valentino can get his arms this big (http://estb.msn.com/i/6B/917B20A6BE353420124115B1A511C7.jpg) using steroids and he has not died then i don't think steroids are all that bad. The video failed to make the point about teenage steroid users. But that's okay because the reporters in the video made the point that they only wanted to look at men who where older. This makes the argument a little bit weaker because the effects of steroids are different in teenagers then middle age men. Yes i do believe steroids can be used responsibly. Steroids are an amazing drug that should be legalized because people should have a choice. And like a hinted before if there was a sure answer to if steroids can kill and if i didn't have to use needles to use steroids i probably would have used them.

2.
I believe that people should be able to use steroids freely, one because it is a personal choice and second the government should not be allowed to stop people's freedom. The testing is really bogus. There really never is a "random" testing. The people who do the testing would never test me. They would only test the top athletes in hopes to prove what steroids really do. I believe that the standards have to be different between high school athletes and professional athletes because in pro-sports there are a lot of records that were set by people that have not used steroids. In pro-sports there is more of a legacy that surrounds the sports. On the high school level it is more about the safety of the kids because they are kids still. I believe that steroids should be used only for recovery in pro-sports. In pro-sports athletes are older and muscle tearing and strains happen more often and i believe it should be used as a way for these athletes to get back on the field faster because they are getting paid too much money to sit on the bench. I do agree with Hoberman, American society has made us push ourself to be the best at everything. It stop being about effort in elementary school, the rest of life is about achievement. I believe that there is a double standard that forces athletes to use steroids because we expect them to be bigger and stronger. When i played in high school i really wanted to use steriods because all the startering linebackers where so ripped and big. I myself played with a lot of heart and i was really fast for my age (4.8 secs yrd dash.... that's fast boiiii!!!!!!) but i was to thin in the coaches mind to play linebacker at the varsity level. I believe if i used steroids to be 225 lbs instead of 164lbs i believe that i could have started and maybe played college ball.
